This Blog is a request of our RAACINE™ family and followers. Why do we get wrinkles, and what can we do about them?
OK, so wrinkles are pretty much a fact of life. But there are some real, and healthy, solutions that help prevent and treat wrinkles for our skin.
First of all, think of your skin as a ‘faux’ or an inexpensive leather belt. If you bend it over and over, eventually the bend (or wrinkle) will be there, and tough to impossible to flatten out. Remember this fact, as it will be needed in a minute.
Now think of a high quality, and supple, leather belt. You can bend it back and forth, over and over, and you can hardly tell where you were bending it? Barely nothing is noticeable in terms of a bend or wrinkle.
Both of these examples could be your skin.
The ‘faux’ leather belt, is dehydrated, and since it is ‘faux’, it tends to malnourished. We don’t tend to clean it, or treat it with a good leather conditioner.
The ‘quality’ supple leather belt is full of nutrients, hydrated, and is much better prepared for movement, and whatever it is challenged to do. In addition, since it is good quality, we tend to treat it better. We use a leather conditioner or oil to keep it hydrated and supple.
Maybe a bit of a strange analogy – but it works doesn’t it? Your skin at all times should be treated as the quality organ that it is!! The more you nourish and treat your skin – it will be the ‘quality’ supple belt that is ready for anything! Including the twists and turns, or emotions of the day! Happy, sad, laughter – all that can lead to wrinkles.
The morale of the story? Treat your skin as you would (or better) that quality leather belt that you saved up for …
Clean it (i.e. cleanse), Oil it (i.e. serum), Condition it (i.e. moisturize). And if it could drink, you would feed it 8 glasses of water a day!
To recap. The healthier and more hydrated your skin is, the less it will wrinkle. It is near impossible to be wrinkle free as we age. However, with a quality skincare routine, good nutrition and hydration – your skin will be prepped, ready and what did you say … ‘ixnay’ on the wrinkles!
